The concept of micro soccer is for children to play with small teams on a small playing area. It utlizes a 3v3/4v4 format. Having fewer players on the field provides more opportunity for players to get more touches on the ball and constant movement from the transition to offense to defense.
The Soccer Tots and Little Kickers will have a more learn to play focus. In this group players will focus on getting familair and comfortable dribbling and moving with the ball. Each session will end with a micro soccer game.
The Junior Kickers and NextGen Kickers will focus on first touch along with passing and receving. Soccer player will also be introduced to principles of play in both attacking and defending. Each session will end with a micro soccer game.
Each session will be led by Matt Caron. Click here to learn more about Matt. He will be joined by Coach Clinton Mungeta. Clinton, an alumnus of Keene State Men’s Soccer, is known to many as “Bongo” and has been a coaching staple for CCYSC and the greater Keene soccer community. He currently serves as the Head Coach of the FAC 13U Travel Team and as an Assistant Coach for the Keene High School Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team.
CCYSC Micro Soccer program has always benefited from volunteer coaches. We are always looking for volunteer coaches. The coach encourages the players and manages the game. No experience needed! When you register your child, please let us know if you want to coach. Support for coaches will be provided through out the session as needed.
This program has been offered for over 20 years. Overwhelming success of this program is attributed to the volunteer coaches that make it possible.
